Television
Ke Zaka is a 24 minute show broadcast on SABC 1 and 2.
The show has three parts: Introduction and profile of the featured stokvel or burial society; Engagement on with expert towards resolving challenge or attaining greater goals and group reflections on the information received, its relevance and importance. In summary: Introduction; Challenge and Solution.
Presented by Seipati “Twasa” Seoke and featuring expert guests with in-depth financial information, the show creates value for stokvels and their members. Some of the content in the series includes universal topics like:
Radio
The Ke Zaka feature on radio is a partnership with Lesedi FM as well as Motsweding FM. This partnership allows us to share important information with stokvel and burial society members on platforms with significant audiences. We also have partnerships with select community radio stations where we also engage with the sector.
Social Media
Activations
Ke Zaka SBS Awards Recognition and Rewarding of exemplary Stokvels. Through cash prizes as incentives, Stokvels will be motivated to continue to strive for “better” with their Stokvels. Initially to hosted in 3 provinces: Free State, Gauteng and North-West, these will be rolled out in other provinces as well. The TV, Radio, Social Media and Digital platforms will each have a segment promoting these events. There is alignment with all the delivery platforms.
Initial Events: Free State 27th September 2025; Gauteng 18th October 2025 and North-West 15th November 2025

Additional: Eastern Cape ; KZN and Limpopo
Additional Radio partnerships – Umhlobo Wenene FM, Ukhozi FM and Thobela FM
In 2024, Ke Zaka had partnerships with 3 tertiary institutions for the hosting of these events: University of Johannesburg; Free State University as well as North-West University.
UJ – Auckland Park and Soweto Campuses; UFS – Bloemfontein and Qwaqwa Campuses and NWU – Vandebijlpark, Potchefstroom and Mmabatho Campuses
TV, Community Radio, Social Media and print platforms were used to promote the lectures.
The partnerships with the Universities included the provision of theoretic financial information to stokvels.
The FSCA (Financial Sector Conduct Authority) was also a participant in the lectures.
These events also saw the participation of university youth in matters related to financial education.
Ultimately the Ke Zaka Lectures will have a curriculum for stokvels – the “Ke Zaka Stokvels” curriculum.
